Welcome to the First Annual Students with Marketable Technology(SMART) Symposium and Speaker Series
sponsored by UCLA's Engineering Graduate Student Association (EGSA)
What is the SMART Symposium and Speaker Series all about?
EGSA's goal is to organize an event where students with an interest in learning about the ups and downs of taking engineering research technology to the commercial sector can congregate and learn from those who know what it takes to get there. The event will provide a forum where company representatives, alumni, business school students, fellow engineering students, and anyone else interested in the subject will have the opportunity to interact, learn from one another, and share their ideas and inquiries about each other's experiences. This includes a series of talks on various aspects essential to successfully making the tranfer of ideas and technology from academia to industry, including a symposium of speakers who have successfully done just that.
With cooperation and coordination between various UCLA Anderson School of Management organizations, engineering school organizations, the Alumni Association, and industry representatives, we envision the start of a great tradition here at UCLA.
Who's attending?
Corporate world leaders of advanced technological solutions will be interacting with attendees in search for the next breakthrough in innovative personnel, research, and development.
